Salmon Fly hatch is winding down. Try a Goldn Stone, the fish seem to key on these as things slow down! You can still have a couple of good days now and then with fish up to 18-20". If you can find a place to elbow in, the Crooked River is fishing great! This is great river for the first time angler, little or no vegetation to obstruct your casting. Swarms of caddis in the late afternoon and evening and tiny mayflies all day. If you find the need to go under, try throwing a Pheasant Tail with a small Zebra Midge dropper under a pretty short indicator.

Steelhead Expedition!!! We were looking for some early steelies, but ended up disappointed! One grab in three days! The trout made up for the absence of our larger queries. We took trout on just about everything. The fishing was most consistent in the early and late parts of the day. Green Drakes are going off in the later part of the afternoon. The bigger rainbows are keyed on them. This hatch restores your faith that there are actually fish in this river. If you want to catch a big Dolly, use nymphs down low or if all else fails, chuck a big white streamer pattern at them.
